iPhone as modem

Using the iPhone as a Tethered Modem

It can be very handy to have a cell phone that is capable of acting as a tethered modem. If you are the proud owner of Apple Inc’s iPhone, this has been a bit of a challenge, as no legitimate method existed to tether it to your laptop. However, enterprising people from around the world have been working on this problem, and there are now a couple of ways to accomplish this goal. Be forewarned however, that all of these methods will violate your End-User License Agreement (EULA) with your service provider. This could leave you open to enormous charges or cancellation of your service. This is not a good option for everyday use. However, even if you NEVER use it, you never know when everything might depend on getting the information on your laptop to someone in another location.

Most of the methods below involve some fairly technical work, so read through the instructions carefully before deciding to begin.
